Flash Menu Configuration

µVision3 provides a command interface for Flash Programming Utilities. These utilities are configured in the Utilities tab of the Options for Target dialog that opens with the Flash — Configure Flash Tools menu item.

Once the command interface is configured, you can use the Flash Menu commands you can call Download or Erase to modify the flash memory on your target device.

  • Use Target Driver for Flash Programming: allows you to select a Flash programming driver, for example Keil ULINK and downloads the executable application program specified in the Output dialog. With the Settings button you can open the driver configuration. The Init File is required for BUS configuration or download of additional program files and allows you to Pre-Download Scripts using Debug Commands or Debug Functions.
  • Use External Tool for Flash Programming: enables a third party command-line based tool. You can specify the Command Line and the Arguments for starting the download tool. Use Key Sequences to specify output file name, device name, or clock frequency for the Flash programming utility. The Run Independent allows you to run the utility without command synchronization by the µVision3 IDE.

Note

  • For most single-chip devices, the µVision3 Device Database provides the correct settings for on-chip Flash ROM.
