What causes this error, and how can I correct it?

ANSWER

With your Single-User Product Serial Number (PSN) the License Agreement allows using a Keil product by exactly one person on a maximum of two computers.

A licensing process generates error 1773 when:

  • You attempt to license more than two computers using a Single-User PSN.
Solution: Uninstall the LIC from one of the licensed computers, and then request a new LIC.

Note:

  • If you are not aware of what computers currently are registered under your PSN, contact Keil Support to report the error code 1773 and your serial number (PSN or LIC).
  • Upon receiving your Support-Ticket, Keil Support will inform you of your current PSN registrations.
  • If there are different users registered to a PSN, this is considered to be a License Violation, which has to get fixed immediately:
    1. Determine who is the sole user of the product.
    2. The other user must uninstall the LIC.
    3. Confirm the result to Keil Support.
