ARM collaborates with IS2T for Embedded Java development

What

ARM^® adds IS2T as an authorized reseller for the MDK-ARM^™ product line. IS2T, makers of embedded Java software solutions, are using the Keil^™ MDK-ARM Development Kit in their MicroEJ^® product to support low-level driver development and the reuse of existing customer code.

MicroEJ provides a runtime Java platform that includes IS2T's MicroJvm^® Java virtual machine and all necessary libraries to run an advanced graphical human machine interface (HMI) on any supported MCU. MicroJvm requires only 28 Kbytes of flash and less than 1.5 Kbytes of RAM. A fully functional, advanced graphical HMI requires from 90 Kbytes to 140 Kbytes of memory in total.

The MDK-ARM development kit combines the state of the art ARM C/C++ Compiler, the µVision IDE and debugger as well as advanced trace functionality. MDK-Professional Middleware libraries provide excellent support for the sophisticated peripherals used in modern microcontrollers.

For new Java-based projects, MicroEJ for ARM uses MDK-ARM to develop hardware drivers, to make use of ARM stacks RTX RTOS, TCP/IP, USB, FileSystem, CAN, and to allow customers to integrate C/C++ in collaboration with their Java application parts. IS2T is now authorized to resell MDK-ARM as part of the MicroEJ product in order to supply an integrated development solution for their customers.
