Atmel's AT91SAM Software Package v1.5 for MDK-ARM
Plano, TX and Rousset, France: Atmel®
Corporation announces the release of the Atmel AT91SAM Software
Package v1.5 for the KeilTM MDK-ARM™ Microcontroller
Development Kit.
The AT91 Software Package v1.5 supports the AT91SAM
family of ARM7™ and ARM9™ processor-based
microcontrollers, and installs on top of the MDK-ARM installation, to
provide access to a wealth of example projects.
Several example projects are provided for each supported device.
The examples range from simple projects that show I/O features and
blink LEDs on the board, to complex examples that demonstrate the
feature-rich peripherals.
The Software Package contains all required drivers and software
services and libraries required to build and run the examples.
The examples are compiled using the ARM C Compiler that is part of
Keil MDK-ARM. Keil MDK-ARM v3.42 has been expanded with device
simulation for most Atmel SAM7 and SAM9 devices. Therefore most of
the examples in the Software Package can be tested without real
hardware, in simulation under the Keil µVision® IDE. This
enables the features of a device to be evaluated without the need for
an evaluation board.
For debugging on real target hardware, Atmel offers an extensive
range of evaluation boards that provide a JTAG interface which
connects to the Keil ULINK™ or the Atmel SAM-ICE adapter. These
combined with the µVision debugger provide a comprehensive test
environment for embedded applications.
