Keil Software Announces C166 V6

Plano, TX: Keil Software is pleased to announce C166 Version 6. C166 supports the C16x/ST10/XC16x families of microcontrollers. Version 6 contains several compiler enhancements, introduces an improved OCDS driver, for debugging with the ULINK USB-JTAG Adapter, and includes complete simulation for all new Infineon XC16x devices. Other new and improved features include:

  • Several new compiler code generation enhancements such as improved Common Sub-Expression Elimination and a new code optimization level 8 for Register Variable Lifetime analysis.
  • µVision3 context sensitive on-line help in the IDE and configuration dialogs.
  • Enhancements in the µVision3 Configuration Wizard and Logic Analyzer.
  • Peripheral dialogs and accurate simulation of all XC16x peripherals including CAPCOM6E and advanced PEC within the µVision3 Debugger.
  • OCDS debugging/programming support for all XC16x devices.
  • ELF/DWARF compatible linker output allows third-party tools to analyze memory contents and symbol information.
