Press Release
25 Apr 2005
Philips ARM Design Contest
Philips Semiconductors have announced an ARM Design Contest
for the following Philips ARM7 devices:
LPC2131, LPC2132, LPC2134, LPC2136, and LPC2138
Register online to receive a Keil MCB2130 Starter Kit (for eligible
developers) and pit your design skills against those of your peers.
Cash prizes (totaling $15,000) are offered for the best
submissions.
The MCB2130 Starter Kit comes with a
16KB code size limited version of the Keil Development Suite for ARM
and provides the software components that you need to develop
Philips LPC2000 Microcontroller applications:
-
Startup code with device-specific configuration, example
projects, and pre-configured programming algorithms for the
Keil ULINK USB-JTAG
Adapter.
-
The Keil CARM C Compiler is optimized for the ARM Thumb
instruction mode (which offers a 30% code size reduction compared
to ARM native mode). The C run-time library, which is coded
primarily using Thumb mode, helps the CARM Compiler generate
extremely tight program code—an important consideration when
using single-chip LPC21xx devices.
-
The kit includes the Advanced RTX Real-Time
Kernel making this suite a truly complete development
system for ARM-based microcontrollers.
-
The µVision Debugger provides accurate device simulation
that has
serious benefits when compared to debugging solutions that
rely only on the ARM Embedded ICE. The µVision Simulator
provides unlimited breakpoints and allows timing analysis of
software algorithms. This is essential for software debugging of
single-chip designs or hardware with only Flash memory since the
Embedded ICE has limited capabilities on such systems.
Don't miss the opertunity and register for the
design contest on the
Circuit Cellar Web Site.
