Keil DK251 Version 3.6 Supports DOLPHIN Flip80251
Plano, TX: Keil Software is pleased to announce the release
of the DK251
Developer's Kit Version 3.6. New in this version is accurate
device simulation for the DOLPHIN
Flip80251 Typhoon core. Complete device simulation includes
all 251 peripherals and gives users serious benefits for rapid,
reliable embedded software development. The DLL-based Advanced Simulation
Interface (AGSI) allows developers to add user-defined
peripherals.
The DOLPHIN
Flip80251 Typhoon is a high-speed CPU core that is based on
the 251 architecture. The 251 architecture is a true superset of the
industry standard 8051. It is designed for optimal C language
performance and removes several 8051 limitations by providing:
-
Large linear 16MBytes address space that avoids memory
banking.
-
32 byte register file with 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit
registers.
-
64KBytes stack for reentrant code and real-time operating
systems.
-
16-bit and 32-bit instructions for direct support of C data
types.
-
16-bit direct and 16-bit/32-bit indirect memory addressing
modes.
-
8051 compatible peripherals with high-speed interrupt
system.
The DOLPHIN Flip80251 Typhoon is fully configurable towards
customer requirements. Available peripherals include Timers/Counters,
Watchdog Timer, Programmable Counter Array, SPI, I2C Master/Slave,
HDLC, PWM, and more. The Flip80251 Typhoon is a cost-efficient
alternative to 32-bit architectures and provides a true upgrade path
for 8051 based products. The 1-cycle pipelined CPU core has a
significant performance improvement confirmed by various (benchmarks) but keeps 8051 compatibility for
application code.
About DOLPHIN Integration
DOLPHIN is a member of the Virtual Socket Interface Alliance
(VSIA) with world-wide support for fault-free, high yield and
reliable sets of CMOS Virtual Components. DOLPHIN Integration
provides virtual (digital, analog, memory, and mixed-signal) IP
components and offers a wide range of design and support services.
This enables efficient SoC development of FLIP-based virtual
components.
