Keil Software Releases DK-ARM Version 1.3
Plano, TX: Keil Software is pleased to announce the release
of Version 1.3 of their DK-ARM Developer's Kit tool suite for
ARM7 Devices. New in this version is device simulation and target
debugging dialogs for the on-chip peripherals of the Philips LPC22xx and
Analog
Devices ADuC7000 Series.
"Accurate device simulation provides unlimited breakpoints and
allows timing analysis of software algorithms. This is essential for
software debugging of single-chip designs or hardware with just Flash
memory since the Embedded ICE has limited capabilities on such
systems." said Reinhard Keil, President, Keil Elektronik GmbH.
In addition to accurate device simulation, Version 1.3 adds
support for the following:
- An unlimited BETA version of the Keil CA ARM C Compiler.
-
A built-in Logic Analyzer that provides accurate signal
timing.
-
The Execution Profiler that measures performance of each
function and line of code.
The Keil CA ARM C Compiler, now in BETA release, generates very
efficient code in Thumb mode and includes 32-bit floating-point
support. Several example projects are included in the tool suite.
The Logic Analyzer, built-in to the µVision Simulator,
allows developers to monitor signals, variables, and other program
objects graphically in real-time. Cursor pop-ups provide details
about time between points, frequency, and program location.
The Execution Profiler shows program execution by
function-by-function, line-by-line, and instruction-by-instruction
basis. Drill-down capabilities let developers find exactly where a
program spends its time.
The DK-ARM Developer's Kit also provides:
-
Support for GNU GCC, ARM ADS/RealView, and Keil CA ARM
Compilers.
- Flash programming for target devices.
-
Target debugging using the Keil ULINK USB-JTAG Adapter.
- Support for third-party utilities.
- Version Control Systems (like CVS, Perforce, and MS VSS).
An evaluation version of the DK-ARM Developer's Kit Version
1.3 may be downloaded from www.keil.com/demo.
