Doulos are holding a series of the ARM® Cortex-M3 Software Design workshops. This workshop is a 4-day comprehensive class that introduces the ARM Cortex-M series architecture and the ARM development tools, MDK-ARM and RVDS.

This workshop provides the opportunity to learn about the ARM Cortex-M series architecture, as well as the corresponding Thumb-2 command set. You will also gain experience with practical hands-on examples that will be used to explain how to write exception handlers (e.g. interrupt handlers) and ROM code.

Who should attend:
Software developers who wish to develop system and application software for ARM Cortex-M3 processor based systems.

What you will gain:

  • Introduction to the Cortex-M3 processor architecture and infrastructure
  • Thumb-2 instruction sets
  • ARM Developement Tools, RVDS or MDK-ARM
  • Embedded software development using RVDS/MDK
  • Exception handling
  • Compiler hints and tips
  • Embedded core debug
  • Hands-on exercises using a Cortex-M3 simulation model
  • Introduction to Cortex Microcontroller Software Inferface Standard (CMSIS)

Pre-requisites:
An in-depth knowledge of microprocessors is not essential but would be advantageous. However, all participants must be computer literate and should have a basic understanding of programming language C.
