C51: Browser Information in OMF51 File Makes Emulator Fail

SYMPTOMS

When I load my program into my emulator, I receive bad object module errors only when I have browser information enabled. What's going on?

CAUSE

This is caused by the emulator trying to interpret browser information records in the OMF51 that should be ignored.

RESOLUTION

All emulators should ignore records 0x60 through 0x7F. These records are generated by the Keil assembler, compiler, and linker and include make information as well as source browser information.

Have your emulator company contact Keil Software for the latest OMF51 specification.
