What does the MCB251 include?

ANSWER

The MCB251 Evaluation Board includes the following:

  • MCB251 evaluation board
  • 2K-limited 251 C Compiler
  • 2K-limited 251 Macro Assembler
  • 251 Monitor
  • dScope Simulator/Debugger

The MCB251 evaluation board supports all modes of the 251 and lets you get started right away. Some features of the hardware include:

  • Easy configuration via on-board DIP switches
  • External UART (16450) for debugging (this lets you create applications that use the on-chip serial port)
  • Supports 8051 microcontrollers (this is done to allow same-hardware speed comparisons)
  • Provides prototyping area and full 251 bus connections
  • Includes multiple memory-maps via DIP switches
  • Address decode performed by PALs (equations are provided)
  • 9 Volt AC or DC any polarity power connection (wall transformer is included)
  • Includes DB9 serial connectors for on-chip serial port and external UART and a 9-pin to 9-pin cable to connect with your PC for debugging
