µVISION: µVision IDE Forces the Project Rebuild on Target Change

QUESTION

The µVision IDE versions released earlier than version 5.14.0.0, changing the target in the IDE did not force the complete project rebuild. However, in µVision IDE version 5.14 and later, if target changes, µVision IDE always rebuilds the complete project even if no change has been introduced in the project. It seems that in the later versions of µVision IDE, this condition has changed, and now the project is completely rebuilt upon a target change. Why there is a change in behavior?

ANSWER

When switching targets, µVision IDE may detect that a module's "modified" status may have been lost and automatically forces a project rebuild.
