Information in this article applies to:

  • RTX51 All Versions
  • PHILIPS 89C668 device

QUESTION

On the Philips 89C688 all access to PDATA is directed to internal ram area 0x0000 to 0x00FF. Can I use RTX51 with this single chip device?

ANSWER

Yes. But only if you don't use the reentrant stack.

RTX51 does not use PDATA as long as your functions are not reentrant (declared with the reentrant keyword).

Note that this also applies to some Atmel devices that do not have page register capabilities.
