C51: Reading Code Space

Information in this article applies to:

  • C51 Version 5.50a and later

QUESTION

I need to read external program memory. I've looked at the ABSACC.H macros but they don't seem to read from external code memory. How do I do this?

ANSWER

CBYTE and CWORD are the macros that allow you to read code memory. In µVision2, if you type cbyte, move the cursor over one of the letters, and press the F1 key, a help page will appear with a description of that macro.

MORE INFORMATION

  • Refer to CBYTE in the Cx51 User's Guide.
