µVision^® User's Guide

This User's Guide describes the µVision3 IDE/Debugger. It contains the following chapters:

• µVision3 Overview describes the major features of the µVision3 IDE with integrated debugger and explains the setup of the development tools.
• User Interface describes the command menu, the toolbar, and lists the default keyboard shortcuts.
• Creating Applications describes how to create projects, edit source files, compile and fix syntax errors, and generate executable code.
• µVision3 Utilities gives you information about using built in utilities like Find in Files or external third party utilities like Software Version Control Systems or Flash programming tools.
• Testing Programs describes how you use the µVision3 debugger to simulate and test your entire application.
• Debug Commands gives detailed information about the µVision3 debug commands that are entered on the command line.
• Debug Functions discusses built-in, user, and signal functions that extended the debugging capabilities of µVision3.
• Simulation Script Templates provides information and signal functions for input/output simulation of digital, analog, and communication signals.
• Flash Programming shows how to program application programs to Flash ROM.
• µVision3 Dialog Pages explains the dialog page options.
• Sample Programs describes the sample programs included in toolkit.
• Command Line Invocation describes how to invoke µVision3 from the command prompt or within Batch files.
• The Appendix provides information about Product Licensing, File Types, and Device Database Parameters.
