µVision provides several configuration dialogs:


  • Find: search for text patterns in the project.
  • Replace: search and replace text patterns in the project.
  • Find in Files: search for text patterns in the project or across a network.
  • Configuration: set options for the Editor, configure Colors & Fonts, define User Keywords and Shortcut Keys, and configure code completion behavior and text templates in Text Completion. Options in the dialog Other are valid for the MDK environment and are not bound to a specific project.


  • New Project start creating an application.
  • New Multi-Project Workspace combine exiting projects into one workspace.
  • Open Project open an existing project or multi-project. The loaded project gets saved and closed automatically.
  • Manage - Project Items, specifically Project Items, Environment, and Books: manage source files, the tool environment, and additional documentation.
  • Manage - Multi-Project Workspace manage a multi-project.
  • Manage - Run-Time Environment add, delete, select, exchange, or update Software Components.
  • Manage - Select Software Packs specify the use of Software Pack versions for the target.
  • Manage - Pack Installer install, update, and remove Software Packs. Can be launched from within µVision or standalone, outside of µVision.
  • Manage - Migrate to Version 5 Format convert an MDK version 4 project to the version 5 format.
  • Select Device for Target: select the microcontroller device for the project.
  • Options for item: set configuration options for the item that is highlighted in the window Project. This could be the project target, group, or file.
  • Batch Build configure a multiple project for compiling, linking, and assembling.

  • Configure Flash Tools: configure the adapters and tools for Flash programming. Opens the dialog Options for Target - Utilities.

  • Breakpoints: manage all types of breakpoints.
  • Debug Settings: configure a restricted set of debug and trace options while debugging.
  • Memory Map: configure memory regions and memory access types.
  • Function Editor: manage files that contain functions for debugging (*.ini files).
