The ULINK USB-JTAG/SWD Adapter section displays information about the driver version, device family, and firmware version.

Target Driver Setup - ULINKpro Adapter

  • Serial No displays the ULINKpro identification number. When more ULINKpro adapters are connected, use the drop-down list to choose which ULINKpro adapter should be used.
  • SWJ, when enabled, ULINKpro generates sequences that switch between JTAG and Serial Wire (SW) mode. Enable SWJ on devices with combined Serial Wire - JTAG interfaces. Disable SWJ on devices that have a Serial Wire interface only.
  • Port, the drop-down list sets the debug interface type: JTAG or SW (Serial Wire). With SW, only two pins are used for communicating to the target. To use Serial Wire, both the debugger adapter and the target device have to support this communication mode. Refer to CoreSight Technology.
  • Max Clock sets the highest clock rate used to communicate to the target board. When communication issues arise, reduce the clock rate here.

  • If you switch the Port setting from SW to JTAG while connected through the Isolation Adapter, the JTAG Device Chain box will be initially empty. To view the JTAG device:
    1. Click OK to save the JTAG setting.
    2. Cycle power on your target device or board.
    3. Click the Settings button.
