Pack Settings

The Pack dialog controls the usage of debug definitions provide with Software Packs.

This dialog is only available when the Software Pack contains debug descriptions. These descriptions provide configuration settings for the debug connection and specify trace features of the device. The debug descriptions influence the options available in the dialogs Debug, Trace, and Flash Download.

Pack Options

Debug Description controls the usage of Software Packs for the debug and trace setup.

The name of the Software Pack that contains the debug description.
Enable the debug description for the Debug and Trace dialog. It is recommended to use this setting.
Log Sequence
When enabled, the execution of the debug descriptions is logged to the specified file. The * wildcard in the filename is replaced by an index number.
Some debug descriptions offer configuration settings that are stored in a configuration file. Click Edit to modify settings for this target.

The dbgconf file usually contains Configuration Wizard annotations that make it easy to change the debug configuration:

  • While configuring debug settings is optional in most cases, it is essential for complex devices with Arm Cortex-M23 or M33 cores that require correct setup before Flash downloading. Consult the device user manual for more information.
