Building VOICE

Build the VOICE example program following this procedure. The executable files are placed in an output folder, ready for downloading.

Build Target ButtonWhen you are ready to compile and link your project, use the Build Target command from the Project menu or the Build toolbar.

µVision translates and links the source files, and creates an absolute object module that you can load into the µVision debugger for testing.

After linking, µVision then runs the convert.bat batch file which converts and creates the Hex-386 file that downloads with the program. The status of the build and conversion process displays in the Build page of the Output Window.

Output Window

  • The sample projects provided with µVision compile and link without errors.
  • If you receive a "Can't execute ...\AudioPlayer\BIN2HEX..." error, your Windows Operating System probably has the NtfsDisable8dot3NameCreation option set to 1. Setting this option to 0 forces creation of the "8.3" or short version of folder names and allows the 16-bit BIN2HEX program to execute properly.
