Create a Project

Create a Project with µVision, and specify and organize the source files of the project.

  1. Create a new project with the µVision menu Project - New Project. Enter the name of the project file.
  2. Select the device from the next dialog. The MCB1000 Board comes with the NXP LPC11C14 device. However, the board can be used to develop code for other LPC11C1x device variants, because the LPC11C14 represents a super-set of several other LPC11C1x devices.
  3. µVision prompts whether to add the Startup Code to the project. The Startup Code configures the microcontroller device and initializes the compiler run-time system.

    Answer with Yes.

  4. Open the dialog Project — Components, Environment and Books — Project Components to manage project targets, files, and groups. Targets are useful for testing the same code on different system configurations. Groups help to organize and structure the code.

  5. Create the source code file and add it to the project. Right click the mouse in the window Project on a group and select Add Files to Group from the context menu.

Wherever possible, write CMSIS-compliant code, or use CMSIS-files provided by the vendors.

  • The chapter Create Application of the MDK-ARM Primer manual explains each step in detail and can be used as a guide to create projects.
  • Configure Startup Code gives hints on how to adapt the startup code.
