Setting the Serial Wire Clock

To get the best performance from your ULINK2 JTAG adapter, it's important to set the JTAG clock rate for the MCB1000 board. The following steps show you how this is done.

  1. Power up the MCB1000 Board.
  2. In µVision, Configure the Debugger in the Project — Options for Target — Debug dialog.

    Button - Options for Target Use the Options for Target toolbar button and click the Debug tab to display the Debug dialog.

    Use: ULINK ARM DebuggerSelect the Use: radio button and then ULINK Cortex Debugger in the drop-down list to choose the ULINK2 USB-JTAG Adapter as the debugging tool.

  3. Click the Settings button to open the Cortex-M Target Driver Setup dialog.

    Target Driver Setup - ULINK2 AdapterCheck the SWJ checkbox and select the SW option under Port to use the Single Wire mode interface.

    None of the MCB11xx or MCB13xx boards support a JTAG interface.

    The Max Clock drop-down list sets the highest JTAG clock rate used to communicate to the target board. When using a ULINK2 adapter, the 1MHz setting works best with the MCB1000 board.
