Install FlexNet Publisher Software

Install the FlexNet Publisher software on a machine that acts as a floating license server. Download FlexNet Publisher Software describes the download process.

The software contains:

• armlmd - the ARM vendor daemon.
• lmgrd - the FlexNet server daemon
• lmutil - the FlexNet licensing utilities
• lmtools.exe - the graphical user interface for FlexNet licensing utilities. This tool is only available on Windows.

Extract the binary files for your matching OS and copy them to a dedicated folder of your license server.

Note

• In some cases, file servers run protection algorithms (such as Windows Data Execution Protection or DEP) which can prevent binary files from being executed. If your file server blocks unknown files, ensure that the binary files are included in the "allow to execute" list.

On Unix/Linux server, change to your license utilities directory, and type:
sh ./makelinks.sh

• If the machine is acting only as a license server, then the installation of MDK software is not required.
