Configure Cortex-M Target

Writing embedded programs with the MDK-ARM is straightforward. This chapter explains some of the configuration steps required when using Cortex-M devices in embedded applications:

  1. Configure Startup Code explains the initializations done before the main function of your application is called. In addition it defines the stack space and memory heap for memory allocation functions.
  2. CMSIS explains the usage of the software standard for interfacing peripherals, real-time operating systems, and middleware components.
  3. Library Retarget File configures the C run-time library for the I/O interfaces of your hardware.
  4. Low Level I/O Routines explains the usage of serial I/O routines in conjunction with the Library Retarget File.
