Troubleshooting

Verify the following when the µVision Debugger cannot connect to the target system:

  • Is the target system powered and connected?
  • Is the JTAG clock of the driver configuration set too high?
  • Is the driver configured to use the DAS Server UDAS?
  • Is the driver configured to use the correct Host Computer?
  • Is the Infineon DAS Server Tool installed correctly? If yes, the DAS Server Control Panel and the DAS Device Scanner are installed in the DAS installation folder.
  • Open the DAS Server Control Panel and check if the DAS Server UDAS is started or can be started via button Installed Servers - Start.

  • Open the DAS Device Scanner and check if the device can be detected.

    DAS Device Scanner

If the DAS Device Scanner cannot detect a target microcontroller, there must be an issue with the hardware of the target system.
  • Which version of the miniWiggler are you using? All hardware revisions 1, 2 and 3 are supported by uVision, but there are some things to consider:

    miniWiggler

    • V 1.00: This hardware revision only supports the 16 pin JTAG interface, but no DAP or SPD. Make sure your target system is configured for JTAG.
    • V 2.0: This hardware revision supports the 16 pin (0.1") JTAG interface and the 10 pin (0.05") DAP and SPD interface. Make sure your target system is configured for JTAG when you have connected the 16 pin JTAG cable or for DAP/SPD when you have connected the small 10 pin cable.
    • V 3.1: This hardware revision supports the JTAG interface and the 10 pin (0.05") DAP and SPD interface. By default, this miniWiggler revision only comes with a small 10 pin cable. A special adapter is necessary to support the 16 pin (0.1") JTAG interface. Make sure your target system is configured for the right interface.

    Note

On many boards, the debug interface (JTAG/DAP/SPD) can be selected with DIP switches. On some devices (especially smaller ones) the debug interface must be programmed with the BMI (Boot Mode Index). Check your board manual for more details.
