Introduction

The µVision Debugger offers a configurable interfaces to the DAS Server allowing to download and debug applications on devices with an 8-bit or 16-bit microcontroller architecture. Target systems are connected via an USB cable to the debug adapter, which uses the JTAG protocol for debugging and downloading applications. µVision connects to the DAS Server via a TCP/IP socket. µVision and DAS Server can be installed on the same computer. A connection to a remotely installed DAS Server is also supported by µVision.

With the µVision Debugger and the DAS Server developers can:

• Download the application code into Flash or RAM.
• Debug the source code on C or Assembler level.
• Single-step through the application code.
• Set breakpoints while debugging.
• Watch program variables.
• Display and change memory contents.
