SWPACK: NXP target selected - startup code missing

Information in this knowledgebase article applies to:

  • MDK 5.29
  • NXP target

I am creating a new project with a NXP microcontroller and the latest version of the corresponding NXP Pack selected. At the Runtine Environment I select the required software components, but I miss the Startup selection of the Device component. What is the reason?

NXP has updated their Packs, and with this update this problem came up.

At the moment Keil is discussing with NXP this issue. There is not yet an updated version of the corresponding Packs provided.

This article will be updated accordingly.

It is initially required to configure your project to Arm Compiler 6 - to do so:

  • Complete your configuration, but confirm this window without a Startup Selection
  • Next open Options For Target - Target
  • Select at ARM Compiler: Use default compiler version 6
  • now again open the Pack Installer
  • and select now at the Device component the required Startup source

If however you require to use Arm Compiler 5:

  • Remove the latest NXP Pack with the Pack Installer
  • and select an older Pack version for your NXP device
  • Next restart the project creation
