CMSIS: Where to Report CMSIS Issues or Enhancements?

QUESTION

I have a question or an enhancement about a CMSIS component (see list above). Whom can I ask? Is the Arm/Keil technical support team in charge of such a question, or should I raise an issue in CMSIS GitHub?

ANSWER

Since CMSIS version 5, the complete content of the ARM.CMSIS.[version].pack is maintained as an open-source project hosted on GitHub. All API specifications and also a part of the development work is done by the open-source community with major contributions from ARM. Therefore, raise an issue in the CMSIS_5 GitHub repository and use the tags mentioned on the very bottom of the CMSIS_5 page if you have an issue with the following CMSIS components:

• CMSIS-Core specification and implementation
• CMSIS-DAP specification and implementation
• CMSIS-Driver specification
• CMSIS-DSP specification and implementation
• CMSIS-RTOS specification and implementation
• CMSIS-Pack specification
• CMSIS-SVD specification

CMSIS-Driver and CMSIS-Packs are usually implemented by a chip vendor or Keil/Arm. If there are issues with such an implementation, contact the manufacturer of the driver or pack.
