LICENSE: can't select device when using Infineon vendor license

Information in this knowledgebase article applies to:

  • MDK-ARM 5

I have installed MDK-ARM 5.15 and registered it with an Infineon-specific M0/M0+ license. But even after installing the current Infineon::XMC1000_DFP with the Pack Installer, I can't select a device from the "Software Packs" device list in an existing project or when creating a new project. The device selection list is empty. What is the problem?

There is a bug in µVision that prevents the vendor-specific devices from appearing in the "Software Packs" device list.

To make the devices selectable, first close µVision. Then add the line (or modify the corresponding existing line)

in the [UV2] section in TOOLS.INI. To do this, open _KEIL_INSTALLATION_PATH_\TOOLS.INI with a text editor and make the required modification. Save the file and then start µVision again to make your device selection.

This problem was fixed in MDK-ARM 5.16.

  • Refer to Device in the µVision User's Guide.
