MCBXC167: Power Problems with 6 VOLT Power Supply

Information in this article applies to:

  • MCB-XC167 Evaluation Boards

QUESTION

I am having intermittent problems with my board, especially when trying to program the external flash.

ANSWER

If you are using a six-volt power supply on an early version of the MCB-XC167, you may have to reconfigure your board. Very early versions of the MCB-XC167 had an incorrect configuration resistor, and will not work with six-volt power supplies.

Short the resistor labeled R26 (so that it is 0 Ohm), by soldering a wire across the resistor.

This will allow the board to be powered by a 6 volt power supply.
