very urgently needed: guys v r to discuss on the issues regarding the different ports and their applications in 8051. our study showed that port p0 is the most interesting port to discuss..our question is port0 is bit addressable but its not bit programmable..please give us your idea regarding this. v would be glad if u could give us some inputs regarding the other ports too
"v would be glad if u could give us some inputs"
If you want people to take time to give you their "input", I suggest that you at least make the effort to write complete words.
Is it really too hard for you to write "we" and "you", etc?!
"port0 is bit addressable but its not bit programmable"
wtevr gv u tht idr?!

we are delope progame in 8051 mcu we need o/p @i/p bi directional port and lcd display 16/2 read frq dection convert lcd
If your english is bad, don't try to abreviate your text to make it even harder to understand.
Ok, so you need o/p (= output port?) @ (at?) i/p (input port?) bidirectional port?
So, do you need input? Or you need output? Or you need bidirectional?
Have you read up what it means to have an input connected together with an open-collector output with weak pull-up?
What does your need for ports has to do with a 16x2 LCD display? And what is read frequency detection?
And are you mentioning requirements for an evaluation board, or are you requesting someone to write software according to your (somewhat lacking) specifications?
What is the frequency you want at the pins ?
At MHz ranges you can use simple frequency dopplers, tripplers...
At KNz ranges can we use these frequency doublers, tripplers ?
Is it possible to get multiplication of frequency without using PLL/DLL? have you used function doubleFreq and highFreq?
