Application Note 224

Developing Debug Driver DLLs for Cortex-M Targets

Note: We strongly recommend to use CMSIS-DAP for implementing debug solutions for custom development boards. This is an open standard that is widely adopted in the industry.

If for any reason you think that CMSIS-DAP is not good enough for your purposes, this application note explains how to build a debug driver DLL for your own hardware debug probe that communicates with µVision. The code template is based on the Keil ULINK2 driver and provides the functions to debug Cortex-M processor-based devices. Programmers must complete the low-level functionality. Middle- and high-level functionality is implemented and needs no modification.
