Serial Communications Simulation

The µVision Debugger simulates all aspects of a UART including accurate serial communications timing.

UART configuration parameters display in the UART Peripheral Dialog. Several VTRegs (virtual target registers) support serial port simulation using Debugger Functions.

In addition to programatic simulation, µVision provides a Serial Window that acts as an ASCII terminal for each on-chip UART. Characters you type in the Serial Window are "received" on the simulated microcontroller. Characters that are transmitted appear in the window.

Click the Serial Window button on the toolbar to toggle display of the Serial Window.
