Using FCARM with µVision

The file converter tool FCARM converts project files of type Image file into a single C-source code file. µVision can be configured to invoke FCARM during the build project. The configuration steps are explained below.

  1. Add files to the project. Refer to Add Source Files to Project.

    Add IMage Files

  2. Change the file type to Image file. You may also change the file compression. For this, use the context menu in the Project window and Options for File. Refer to Properties.

    Add IMage Files

  3. Open the dialog Project - Options for Target - Utilities.

    Using FCARM

Output File: Enter the output file name. A path relative to the Image Files Root Folder (see below) can be prepended. The FCARM log file is derived from this name, has the extension *.lst, and gets added to the folder selected in Project - Options for Target - Listing - Select Folder for Listings.

Add Output File to Group: Select the group to which the output file will be added automatically.

Image Files Root Folder: Defines the root path where the web files are located relative to the project directory. Default is the project directory. The folder must be created manually.

Generate Listing: Generates a listing file using the base-name of the output file. The file extension is *.lst.

  4. Build the Project. FCARM creates an command file Auto_FcArm_Cmd.inp in the Project folder that contains the files and directives for converting the files.

The Build Output window shows the compilation of the image files:
