Flash Algorithms

Flash Programming Algorithms are a piece of software to erase or download applications to Flash devices. Normally, predefined Flash algorithms are part of the device family pack of the target microcontroller. Sometimes, Flash programming algorithms need to be created for new devices or external Flash.

Arm Cortex-based devices

A detailed description on how to create Flash programming algorithms for Arm Cortex-based devices is available in the CMSIS documentation on GitHub: Creating a new algorithm. For older devices (Arm7 and Arm9, please follow the step mentioned below).

Arm7 and Arm9 based devices

Flash programming algorithms for classic Arm cores are stored in the folder ..\ARM\FLASH. The following chapters describe the creation of Flash programming algorithms for these legacy cores:
