Creating Applications

The Project Manager makes it easy to maintain the resources needed for creating an embedded application. The steps and features are explained in the following sections:

• Create Projects - setup a simple application and generate an object file or HEX output.
• Project Targets and File Groups - create application variants and organize the files that belong to a project.
• Configuration Dialogs - lists the dialogs for configuring the device and toolchain.
• Multiple Projects - manage many projects within one µVision project environment.
• Tips and Tricks - use the advanced features of the µVision Project Manager.

Notes

• This chapter uses the ARM architecture to explain generic features of the µVision IDE. Architecture specific information (like bank switching for 8051) can be found in the Getting Started User's Guide of the respective toolchain.
• Software evaluation versions with sample programs are available at http://www.keil.com/demo. Evaluation versions have a code size limit. Compare the tool versions with the Product Selector.
• For commercial or larger applications, purchase the full version of our development kits.
