Target Checklist

Cortex-M

  1. Enable the SWJ checkbox.
  2. Select Port: SW.
  3. Select different Max Clock: frequencies (10MHz, 1MHz, 100kHz and 10kHz) from the drop-down list.

    Frequency check

    After each new selection, check whether a device ID is shown in the SW Device list box.

    • If YES, then your ULINKpro is communicating with your target. Use this setting in your project.
    • Otherwise proceed with the next step.
  4. With the SWJ checkbox still enabled, select Port: JTAG and try out several Max Clock: frequency settings. After each new selection, check whether a device is shown in the JTAG Device Chain list box.
    • If YES, your ULINKpro is communicating with the target. Use this setting in your project.
    • Otherwise, proceed with Exchange Procedure and report code UPTC2.

ARM7 and ARM9

  1. Disable Use nTRST and try selecting different Max Clock: frequency settings (RTCK, 10MHz, 1MHz, 100kHz and 10kHz). After each new selection, check if a device ID is shown up in the JTAG Device Chain.
    • If YES, your ULINKpro is communicating with the target. Use this setting in your project.
    • Otherwise, continue with the next step.
  2. Inspect the 10-pin or 20-pin ribbon cable and ensure the cable or connector is not damaged.
  3. If there is no obvious damage to the cable or connector, proceed with Exchange Procedure and report code UPTA1.
