Logic Analyzer

The Logic Analyzer is a time-based graph that:

  • Shows a maximum of 4 variables when connected to the target. Watchpoints, also known as Access Breakpoints, reduce the number of variables that can be monitored.
  • Shows global and static variables only. Automatic variables inside a function are not shown. For details refer to Restrictions.
  • Expects a stable trace connection. Lost trace packets lead to incomplete data. Refer to Status Bar for information about trace errors.

To display variables in the Logic Analyzer:

  1. Enable Timestamps in the dialog Target Driver Setup - Trace, and select an appropriate Prescaler value to define the timestamp granularity.
  2. Drag and drop variables to the Logic Analyzer.

Notes

  • Variables defined for the Logic Analyzer do configure trace options automatically and invoke data read/write events for those variables. These events can be viewed in the Instruction Trace window.
