JTAG Device Chain

The JTAG Device Chain section displays the target board (or boards) connected to the JTAG interface. ULINKpro displays the detected IDCODE, Device Name, and IR Length of all JTAG-compatible targets automatically.

Target Driver Setup - JTAG Device Chain

Manual Configuration allows to identify and name undetected JTAG devices. Specify the instruction register length (IR len) of each device in the JTAG device chain.

If ARM devices are configured manually, the Device Name must begin with one of the text strings below to identify the core:

Text String Identifies ARM Core...
"ARM7" or "ARM7TDMI" ARM7TDMI, ARM7TDMI-S
"ARM7EJ" ARM7EJ-S
"ARM9" or "ARM9TDMI" ARM9TDMI
"ARM9E" ARM9E-S
"ARM9EJ" ARM9EJ-S
"ARM720" ARM720T
"ARM920" ARM920T
"ARM922" ARM922T
"ARM940" ARM940T
"ARM926" ARM926EJ-S
"ARM946" ARM946EJ-S
"ARM966" ARM966E-S
"ARM968" ARM968E-S

Note

  • Characters after the identifier are ignored and can be used for additional user information (examples: "ARM7_NXP" or "ARM966_ST").
  • See Target Chaining for additional information.
