Trace Data Not Synchronized

Trace Data Not Synchronized offers solutions for the event that wrong or no data are displayed in µVision Windows.

The Trace Status delivers useful information about the status of capturing trace data. When either of the error message is displayed, follow the corrective checks:

  1. Is the Core Clock set equal to the frequency of the system clock? Refer to General Settings.
  2. Did the system clock change its value after RESET, and, as a consequence, the Core Clock value is not set correctly?.
  3. Is Trace and, if required, ETM Trace enabled? Refer to General Settings.
  4. Is the Max Clock for the debug Port set too high?
  5. Are the debug Port and Trace Port properly configured and connected? The picture in CoreSight Technology gives a good view about the possible port combinations and trace capabilities. Note also the dependency on the board's connector. JTAG and Cortex Debug (10-pin) connectors do not deliver ETM data.
  6. Is the processor's ETM block enabled? This is done through an Initialization File as describe in Configure Cortex-M Devices for Tracing, section Enable 4-Pin Trace (ETM) of the respective device.
