Power Interface

Power schematic

The 3-pin Power connector (with a 2.54 mm pitch) connects to the power supply circuit of the target system as shown on schematic figure.

The current range with the ULINKplus-internal shunt resistor is +/- 2.5mA. This range can be extended using external shunt resistors.

ULINKplus comes with six shunt boards (5 mA, 10 mA, 25 mA, 50 mA, 100 mA or 250 mA) that adjust the maximum current range to be measured.

The table below lists the technical parameters of the internal and external shunt resistors.

Current
range (mA)
Power
(Watts)
Resolution Shunt (Ω) Tolerance (%) TCR (±ppm/oC)
2.5 0.25 200nA 100 (internal) 0.1 25
5 0.1 400nA 100 (external) 0.1 25
10 0.1 800nA 33.2 (external) 0.1 25
25 0.125 1.8µA 11 (external) 1 100
50 0.25 3.5µA 5.23 (external) 1 100
100 0.25 7.0µA 2.55 (external) 1 200
250 0.25 15.0µA 1 (external) 1 200

Note:

  • It is also possible to use custom shunt resistors. Please refer to the Power Measurement Setup for details on the shunt configuration.

The Power Measurement page explains how to use this interface to record and analyze the power consumption.
