| Connecting ULINKConnecting ULINK to your target system is easy. In most cases, you simply plug the ULINK JTAG cable into the JTAG plug on your target hardware and then plug the USB cable into your PC using a standard USB cable. ULINK Adapter Connected to Target Hardware
The ULINK Adapter connects to your target board via ribbon cable attached to one of four JTAG interfaces: - ARM 20-pin interface (2.54mm/0.1" pin spacing).
- ARM 20-pin interface (2.0mm/0.079" pin spacing).
- ST 14-pin interface.
- OCDS 16-pin interface.
 ULINK Adapter Target Connections
ULINK Interface Connector Pinouts
| Signal | Connects to... |
|---|
| TMS | TMS pin — Use 100K Ohm pull-up resistor to VCC. | | TDO | TDO pin. | | RTCK | Not used on KEIL ULINK. | | TDI | TDI pin — Use 100KOhm pull-up resistor to VCC. | | TRST | TRST/ pin — Use 100K Ohm pull-up resistor to VCC. TRST is optional and not available on some devices. You may leave it unconnected. | | TCLK | TCLK pin — Use 100K Ohm pull-up resistor to VCC. | | VCC | Positive Supply Voltage — Power supply for JTAG interface drivers. | | GND | Digital ground. | | RESET | RSTIN/ pin — Use 100K Ohm pull-up resistor to VCC. | | CPUCLK | CPU clock (according IEEE Standard 1149.1). | | OCDSE | Enable/Disable OCDS interface (Infineon-specific). | | TRAP | Trap condition (Infineon-specific). | | BRKIN | Hardware break in (Infineon-specific). | | BRKOUT | Hardware break out (Infineon-specific). | | /JEN | JTAG Enable (STMicroelectronics specific). | | TSTAT | JTAG ISP Status (STMicroelectronics specific) (optional). | | /RST | Chip reset (STMicroelectronics specific). | | /TERR | JTAG ISP Error (STMicroelectronics specific) (optional). |
Note - ULINK gets its power from the USB connection. Refer to your target hardware documentation to determine its power requirements.
- ULINK operates at 3.3V. All inputs are 5V tolerant.
- The signals TRST and RESET are open collector outputs on ULINK with a 10K Ohm pull-up resistor to VCC (optional 3.3V).
- Some Philips LPC2000 Devices have special pins (RTCK / DBGSEL) that enable the JTAG interface. For example, on the Philips LPC2129 the signal RTCK must be driven low during RESET to enable the JTAG interface. You may want to add jumpers to your hardware to accomplish this.
