When you connect the MCBXC800 Board the first time, it asks for the installation of an USB Device Driver (the driver for the CP210x USB to UART Bridge Controller). Windows presents the Hardware Update Wizard.
The Hardware Update Wizard gives you two options:
- Install the software automatically (Recommended). Windows searches the Internet for the related Device Driver.
- If you do not have an Internet connection, you may select Install from a list or specific location (Advanced). In the search dialog specify the location of the CP210x driver that is located in the CD folder Utility\CP210x\WIN.
After installing the USB Device Driver, you may use the USB to UART Bridge as a standard COM connection which allows you to:
- Download programs using the Infineon XC800 Flash Download Utility.
- View UART Output using terminal emulation programs such as HyperTerminal.
This completes the installation of the USB Device Driver.
