Configure the COM Port
Verify the COM port setting after the installation of the USB Device Driver by following these steps:

Open the Device Manager (using Start - Control Panel
- System - Hardware - Device Manager). The COM driver for the
MCBXC88x Evaluation Board is located under Ports (COM & LPT)
- CP210x USB to UART Bridge Controller (COMx).
COMx stands for the COM port selected by the driver. All example projects are configured for the COM3 port. If the driver is listed as a different COMx port, you must change the port settings as described in step 2 and step 3.

To change the COMx port, double click on Ports (COM
& LPT) - CP210x USB to UART Bridge Controller to open the
Properties dialog. Select the Port Settings tab and click on
the Advanced button.

On the Advanced Settings dialog, select COM3 as the COM
Port Number, then click OK.
The MCBXC88x board is ready to use. Connect to the MCBXC88x board using HyperTerminal or the Infineon XC800 Flash Download Utility.
