Debugging Programs for 251

To debug your program on the 251 device, you must first:

• Create Mon-251 using the Keil 251 monitor file (MON251HEX)
• Download Mon-251 to the board. See the Application Note Using MON251.
• Create your program
• Download your program to the board

Now your program is ready for debugging.

µVision IDE offers a very powerful and comprehensive set of debugging tools designed to make program testing easier and reduce the time it takes to produce a working application.

1. Start the Debugger.

   Use the Start/Stop Debug Session toolbar button to start debugging the program.

   Or

   Use the µVision command, Debug - Start/Stop Debug Session, to start debugging the program.

2. The debugger connects to the MCBx51 board and runs the application program. In case of communication problems a dialog box opens that displays further options and instructions.
3. You may single step through your code and use other debugger features.
