Joystick

The 5-position joystick control on the MCBSTM32F200 board grounds one of 5 GPIO pins (X+, X-, Y+, Y- and IN3) on the STMPE811 Touchscreen Controller (IC27) depending on how the the joystick control handle is positioned. Each position is sent to the MCU via I2C. The control may be positioned left, right, up, down or pushed toward the board (center).

  • The Left joystick position connects the Y+/GPIO-5 pin of the STMPE811 Touchscreen Controller to ground.
  • The Right joystick position connects the X+/GPIO-4 pin of the STMPE811 Touchscreen Controller to ground.
  • The Up joystick position connects the IN3/GPIO-3 pin of the STMPE811 Touchscreen Controller to ground.
  • The Down joystick position connects the X-/GPIO-6 pin of the STMPE811 Touchscreen Controller to ground.
  • The Center joystick position connects the Y-/GPIO-7 pin of the STMPE811 Touchscreen Controller to ground.
