| Checking Serial OutputTo check the serial output from the BLINKY program, connect the COM serial cable on the board to an unused COM port on your development PC. Use a terminal emulation program, such as Microsoft Windows HyperTerminal, to display the serial data on your PC monitor. To start the Microsoft Windows HyperTerminal application, select Start - Programs - Accessories - Communication - Hyperterminal. Enter a Name for the new connection, for example: MCB950.
Select the PC COM port COM 3 in Connect Using.

Select 9600 Bits per second, 8 Data bits, Parity None, Stop bits 1 and Flow control None.
Click OK. The A/D input voltage on P0.3/AD02 displays as a hexadecimal value on both serial ports from the MCB950 board.

To view the UART1 output: - Connect a standard RS232 cable to the COM0 port of your computer.
- Configure another instance of Hyperterminal with Start - Programs - Accessories - Communication - Hyperterminal.
- Configure a connection using the COM1 interface. All other settings are identical.

When the Hyperterminal connects, the following output displays on the UART1 interface.
