Configuring the COM Port

After installing the USB Device Driver, verify the COM port setting using the following steps:

  1. Open the Device Manager (using Start — Control Panel — System — Hardware — Device Manager).
    The COM driver for the MCB950 Evaluation Board displays under Ports (COM & LPT) — CP210x USB to UART Bridge Controller (COMx).
     
    COMx stands for the COM port selected by the driver. All the example projects are configured for the COM3 port. If the driver is listed as a different COMx port, you must change the port settings as described in steps 2 and 3.

  2. To change the COMx port, double click on Ports (COM & LPT) — CP210x USB to UART Bridge Controller, which opens the Properties dialog.
    Select the Port Settings tab, then click the Advanced Settings button.

  3. On the Advanced Settings dialog, select COM3 (or the COM you require) as the COM Port Number and click OK.

The MCB950 Board is now setup. Next, verify the COM Connection.
