Configuring the MCB54110

The MCB54110 Evaluation Board is configured using 8 sets of jumpers. The MCB54110 Board ships with the following configuration:

Power Measurement Jumpers

Jumper State Description
J1 VCCAuC
ON1 Supplies regulated 3.3VDC (3V3A from VCC_LPC54) to VCCAuC. Remove this jumper to monitor just the analog/ADC current draw of the LPC54114 device.
J1 VCCuC
ON1 Supplies regulated 3.3VDC (3V3 from VCC_LPC54) to VCCuC. Remove this jumper to monitor just the CPU current draw of the LPC54114 device.
J1 Shunt
ON1 Supplies regulated 3.3VDC (3V3 from VCC_LPC54) to VCCuC bypassing R74.

Power Select Jumper

Jumper State Description
VDD_LPC
1V8 Supplies VCC_LPC54 with 1.8V power.
3V31 Supplies VCC_LPC54 with 3.3V power.

Boot Configuration Jumpers

LINK RS232 Description
ISP On1 No ISP. MCU boots from Flash.
On Enables ISP from RS232.
RST On1 Reset from debug interface.
On Reset from RS232.
RXD On1 Download from debugger.
On Download from RS232.
TXD On1 Download from debugger.
On Download from RS232.

Notes:

  • Other boot modes such as I2C, USB and SPI flash are not supported on the MCB54110. Please see the NXP LPC54114 User Manual, Chapter 6, LPC54110 ISP Boot Process for more details.
  • MCUs with on-chip flash (like LPC54110) will always boot from on-chip Flash when it contains a valid application. If you want to boot from the source that is selected with the jumpers above, you can do this:
    1. Erase the on-chip Flash. Use a uVision project where the right on-chip Flash programming algorithm is selected and then select Erase from the uVision Flash menu.
    2. Press the buttons ISP and RESET at the same time. Then first release RESET and then ISP. This forces the MCU to boot from the source selected by the jumpers above.

Audio Jumpers

Jumper State Description
MICbias On1 These jumpers connect the left and/or right channel microphone inputs to the MICBIAS input of the codec (IC19). Installing both of these jumpers produces a monophonic signal when a stereo microphone is connected to the AUDIO_IN jack.
LSP On1 Connects the on-board loudspeaker amplifier to the digital analog (DAC) output of the MCU.
