The MCB2470 board includes a speaker controlled by the output of the on-chip D/A converter, and the volume control (R51). The LM386M low voltage power amplifier (U2) amplifies the D/A output to drive the speaker.
The D/A output (Port 0, pin 26, P0.26/AOUT) is connected to the input of the LM386M amplifier via R51 allowing the D/A output to control the gain of this amplifier and the volume of the speaker.
