Setting Target Options

You must select the speed and memory configurations for your target hardware. Since these features of the MCB2400 are fixed, copy the settings as shown below. The steps for setting the target options are:

  1. Open the Target Tab of the Project — Options for Target dialog.

    Options for Target - XTAL Type in the XTAL (MHz) of 12.0 for the oscillator frequency.

  2. Enter the memory ROM area for your target system in IROM1.

    Options for Target - IROM1 Enter the starting address of 0x0 in Start and the size of 0x80000 in Size.

    The MCB2400 has on-chip ROM from 0x0 to 0x7FFFF for a total of 0x80000 bytes.

  3. Enter the RAM memory area for your target system in RAM1 and IRAM1.

    Options for Target - RAM1/IRAM1 For Off-chip memory, enter the starting address of 0xA0000000 in Start and the size of 0x2000000 in Size.
    For on-chip memory, enter the starting address of 0x0000040 in Start and the size of 0x18000 in Size.

    The MCB2400 has off-chip RAM from 0xA0000000 to 0xA1FFFFFF for a total of 0x2000000 bytes.
    The MCB2400 has on-chip RAM from 0x40000000 to 0x40017FFF for a total of 0x18000 bytes.

  • In the licensed (non-evaluation) version of MDK-ARM, the Memory Areas parameters automatically configure the scatter file for the RealView Linker/Locator.
